Explore Southern Africa

LUXURIOUS NAMIBIA GETAWAY

Discover the diverse and spectacular Namibia. In Namibia, it is not just a question of seeing the big game of Africa, it is about experiencing the sheer diversity of this vast nation, from the mountainous dunes of Sossusvlei, dramatic ship wrecks of the Skeleton Coast, to the pristine wildlife of Etosha. Namibia – it is truly a country of startling contrasts.

This itinerary follows a circular route, beginning and ending in Windhoek, visiting the major highlights of this vast and beautiful country. Spend your first night at the comfortable and luxurious Olive Exclusive All-Suite Hotel.

Your next destination is Sossusvlei in the Namib Desert – here you will find the iconic red sand dunes of the Namib. The clear blue skies contrast with the giant red sand dunes make this one of the natural wonders of Africa and a photographers heaven. Aside from the attractions at Sossusvlei – Dune 45, Hiddenvlei, Big Daddy and Deadvlei – other attractions in the area include the Sesriem Canyon and Namib-Naukluft National Park, where the mountains of the Namib meet its plains.

Then travel north towards along the Atlantic Coast to your next accommodation – Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp. The Skeleton Coast is remoteness at its best. Thousands of miles of sandy desert dotted with shipwrecks meet with the cold waters on the Atlantic and somehow an amazing array of wildlife and flora manages to survive in this harsh but beautiful environment.

After spending a few days on the Skeleton travel further north The Kaokoveld –  a dry, mountainous and relatively undeveloped region that takes in the harsh beauty of the Skeleton Coast and the coppery sands of the northern Namib Desert. Spend a couple of nights at Serra Cafema Camp and discover the rugged beauty, dramatic scenery and visit the local Himba tribes, the last semi-nomadic herders in Namibia.

Your final destination is Ongava Private Game Reserve –  one of the largest and most exclusive games reserves in the southern part of Etosha National Park. Ongava Lodge offers luxurious accommodation, and an authentic and comprehensive safari experience, including nature walks and game drives.

Both the eight large en-suite tents (including one family unit) with shaded outdoor lounges and the main area and swimming pool look out over rugged scenery: a wide valley that slopes down to the almost-always dry Hoanib River.

Guests fall asleep to the sound of rushing water, while by day they explore one of the driest deserts in the world. The camp’s eight unique canvas and thatched chalets are, each with its own en-suite bathroom, show great attention to detail.

ONGAVA LODGE

The well-established Ongava Lodge is situated in the privately owned Ongava Game Reserve along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park.
