KENYA HIGHLIGHTS

Resting in the magnificent Great Rift Valley and presided over by the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, Kenya is characterised by hauntingly beautiful natural landscapes of forested hills, patchwork farms, wooded savanna and vast forests brimming with an extraordinary abundance of wildlife.

Your first night in Kenya will be spent in the City of Nairobi. Nairobi is Africa’s 4th largest city and is a vibrant and exciting place and although it has developed a reputation which keeps tourist visits brief there are some fascinating attractions: its café culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum and most notably just 20 minutes from the city centre wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve.

Next you will be heading to Amboseli National Park where you will spend two nights at Tortilis Camp. The landscape of Amboseli is dominated by the snow cap of Mount Kilimanjaro, open plains, acacia woodland, swamps and the massif of Ol Doinyo Orok. Renowned for its excellent Masaai giraffe, elephant, lion and cheetah viewing and not surprisingly it is one of Kenya most popular parks.

Your next destination is the wild and beautiful, Meru National Park. Enjoy your stay at Elsa’s Kopje which remains one of the most elegant lodges in Africa, in one of the most spectacular settings. It is also one of the best upmarket locations to view rhino in their natural habitat in Kenya.

To end of this magical safari make your way to the Masai Mara – The image of acacia trees on an endless grass plain epitomises Africa for many, and then add a Maasai warrior and some cattle to the picture and the conversation need go no further. Spend you last few days at &Beyond Sand River Masai Mara located within the Masai Mara National Reserve on a secluded and picturesque site. The camp sits on the migration route for the millions of wildebeest, zebra and Thompson’s gazelle that move between Serengeti and Maasai Mara every year. Enjoy the privilege of exclusive views of the plains and hills dotted with thousands of animals as well as being in the thick of the excitement of frenetic and famed river crossings, all from the comfort of camp.
